Supported Living – provides individually tailored services and supports that enable a person to live in and have control over his/her own home. Individuals receiving supported living may live alone or with the person(s) of their choosing. Our homes here at Mid-South Area Residential Services’ are specifically tailored to make all individuals as comfortable as possible. At our homes, individuals have their own bedrooms that they can go to when they want to be alone or just relax. Individuals and family members are encouraged to decorate and furnish their rooms to fit their personalities, styles, and needs. Twenty-four-hour a day awake staffing and transportation are provided.
Community-Based Day Services – provides individuals with access to and participation in typical activities and functions of community life that are desired and chosen by the general population. Such activities may include opportunities to experience and participate in community exploration, companionship with friends, family and peers, leisure activities and hobbies, educational experiences, spectator sports, and volunteering. These services are individually determined by his or her personal strengths, preferences, interests, desires, and goals.
Personal Assistance – provides direct assistance for individuals in order to meet their daily living needs and to facilitate their participation in community life. Personal assistance may also include self-care assistance with eating, dressing toileting, bathing, mobility, transfer assistance, and other services and supports to maintain health and wellness. Household assistance with tasks such as housekeeping, laundry, meal planning, meal preparation, and use of telecommunication devices.
Transportation – provides individuals with the ability to gain access to medical and therapeutic services, educational and community services, activities, and resources.
Supported Employment – This service is selected by persons supported that help to seek employment and work in competitive integrated settings and engage in community life, based on her or his individualized needs and preferences. It also help the person to acquire, retain or improve skills in the area of self-care, sensory/motor development, socialization and communication, in order to pursue and achieve his or her personal employment. In most cases, the person is assisted by a Job and learning their own money gives anyone a sense of independency, responsibility and liberation.
